Broek Named General Manger for Bovance
January 4, 2008 Sioux Center, Iowa FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bovance, the leading U.S. cattle cloning company formed in 2007 as a joint-venture between ViaGen and Trans Ova Genetics, has named Diane Broek as the new company’s General Manager.
In this new role, Broek will lead the Bovance business, working closely with clients, industry influencers and the Trans Ova Genetics sales managers who exclusively market Bovance technology throughout the U.S. Her responsibilities will include monitoring technological processes -- including genetic preservations and cloned embryo production, and the animal birthing and rearing processes provided to Bovance clients. Broek will work closely with clients and prospective clients as a liaison and reproductive expert, helping identify when and how cloning technology can best help cattle breeders achieve their unique herd-development goals.
“Cloning continues to be a promising tool for producers to enhance their breeding programs,” says ViaGen president Mark Walton, Ph.D. “Few people understand this better than Diane Broek, and she will therefore be an outstanding ambassador for both the technology and for Bovance.”
Broek previously has been with Trans Ova Genetics and has more than 27 years of experience working with advanced reproductive technologies. Most recently serving as a product and area sales manager, her past responsibilities have included Customer Service Director, Laboratory Director, and Embryologist.
“Diane is a great fit for leading the Bovance business,” says Dr. Dave Faber, president of Trans Ova Genetics. “She already has established, respected relationships with our clients, and her knowledge of both the technology and the cattle breeding industries is outstanding.”
“Cloning technology has the potential to significantly and positively change the cattle breeding industry,” says Broek. “This technology can be a very effective tool when integrated into a progressive and strategic breeding program. I’m excited to work with individual clients who want to use it.”
Cattle breeders who want more information about how cloning can advance their genetic opportunities can find it online at www.bovance.com, or by calling 1-877-4-BOVANCE, or by talking to their Trans Ova Genetics representative.
Bovance is a joint-venture between Trans Ova Genetics of Sioux Center, Iowa and ViaGen of Austin, Texas. Trans Ova Genetics helps cattle breeding clients effectively implement advanced reproductive technologies, including embryo transfer, in vitro fertilization, sexed semen, genetic preservation and cloning. ViaGen adds value to the marketplace by cloning animals, licensing and selling proprietary animal genetics, and providing traits and technology for animal agriculture industries worldwide.
Bovance provides bovine cloning services to cattle producers across North America as an exclusive product offering from Trans Ova Genetics.
